Unlike the SAT, PSAT registration is not facilitated by the College Board. Instead, students register for the PSAT through their high schools. Your child’s high school guidance or college counseling office will tell you how and when to sign up for the PSAT. If you haven’t received PSAT registration information by the fall of your child’s junior year, you should call your child’s guidance or college counselor.
If your child’s school does not offer the PSAT to its students, your child can take the test at another local high school. Use the College Board’s PSAT High School Search Tool to find a school in your area that administers the PSAT, then contact that school to inquire about test dates and procedures.
